5 Steps To Creating A 6-Figure While You Work At Home

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Creating a steady income from home can be a daunting process. Being successful from home can often take more work than your regular 9 to 5. But, if you learn to break things down and follow a simple forumla, your home business can give you all the income and time freedom that you are seeking in a work from home business.

My successful business formula involves 5 steps. I follow these same five steps with every person I come into contact with. Having a system not only makes my days more organized, but also it opens up more time for me to enjoy the financial rewards that the system creates.

Here is my simple formula:

Step 1; Collect Leads:

This is an entire article in itself (which is in the works). For the sake of keeping this article on track, I will touch on this only briefly. There are many ways to get leads. You can buy leads, place ads in papers and on the net, use ad words, submit your site to search engines, mail postcards, etc. There are literally 100’s of ways to advertise. The trick is finding a couple of advertising techniques that you like best and that fit your budget and then try them out. Those that bring you the most success can be tweaked further to give you the results you want. Just remember to always test each ad or lead generating technique you use. From my own experience, I like to talk to those that are in my business and find out what they are doing. They have most often been through the trial and error process and can save you some time.

Step 2; Call Leads:

This is the step that most people have reservations about. If you want to be successful in any home business, you must pick up the phone. This does not mean “cold” calling people. I never call anybody that has not asked to hear about my home business. Use your lead generating techniques in step one to create leads that want to hear from you and then contact them. Whether you business costs $5 or $5000 to join, people want to know that there is a real person behind the business that they can consult with questions. Talking to them and establishing a rapport and trust will go a long way to making sure that the prospect joins you in your home business. When still a “rookie” to making calls, it is best to have a script or outline to follow. This is not to say that you read directly from that. Just use it as a guide to keep you on track and in control of the call. Most importantly in regards to calls……LISTEN. Listen and take notes about what the prospect is telling you. Remember, you are trying to get to know this person and establish their trust.

Step 3; Email

It is hard to ignore this powerful tool. When collecting my leads, I always get an email and phone number to use in step 2 and 3 of my system. Just as I do not make cold calls, I do not send emails to those who have not asked for it. Spam complaints will kill your business and your rapport with people. When I get an email, I simply have that email address automatically entered into an autoresponder. My autoresponder then sends messages every few days to keep me fresh in my prospects mind. Autoresponders are a must have for any business. They allow you to stay in contact for long periods of time while doing virtually no work. They also increase the amount of times your prospect is exposed to you and your business. Remember this, on average a prospect must see your message 5 to 12 times before joining you.

Step 4; Direct Mail Information Packet.

With all of the new email laws and email blocking systems, direct mail is making a comeback. As I said in step 3, you want to expose yourself to your prospect as many times as possible. But, if you use one method of exposure….your prospect may begin to ignore you. Diversifying your exposure types will keep them interested. I must state that I do not mail information packets to everybody. Only those that I have talked with and that have expressed interest. Mailing the packets can become expensive if you mail them to everyone. That said, putting the pack together is very easy. I used the ad copy on my website to develop the packet. Then I throw in a business card or flyer and send it on its way. This also makes sure that people actually see the content of your site. Many have seen so many websites that they just browse them. They are more apt to sit down and read printed text than to sit at their computer and read through your website.

Step 5; Direct Mail Postcard.

Postcards, like direct mail, give you another way to expose yourself to your prospects. They are fun to design and can be sent quickly and easily. Because they are less expensive than the direct mail packets, I send a postcard to all of my leads. People love getting postcards. They do have the junk mail stigma and if designed well, they can give a personal touch to your business. I actually send a postcard campaign that sends multiple postcards over a period of 45 - 60 days to my prospects. I use a service that does this automatically and even personalizes each card for me.

Always remember this, it takes on average 5 to 12 exposures to get somebody into your business. My 5-step process actually includes multiple exposures within each step. For example, my emails include phone numbers to live calls and links to movies to watch. One email can get me three or more exposures. The key to any business is to have a formula or process to follow. Knowing what you are going to do each day keeps you focused and allows you to track how your business is doing and what may or may not be working.

That’s it! Those 5 simple steps earn me a consistent 6-figure income from home. Your results may differ based on your business, and your compensation plan among other things, but this process will definitely increase your sign up rate.

The Horsepower of New Luxury Cars

Monday, July 28th, 2008

The Horsepower of New Luxury Cars When it comes to horsepower the average of a luxury cars is around 600 or a little above. The top ten luxury cars all have ratings ranging from 640 to 552. Ratings information does not include vehicles with optional equipment or specialty vehicles. The luxury cars are chosen based on the class of the car, price, gas mileage, and many other factors. When we say luxury car we think of a big car such as the older Cadillacs. However we do not stop there. Luxury means top of the line everything. From the seats to the stereo system, when we think of this type of car we want everything at our fingertips. What is the Average Horsepower of Luxury Cars?If you had a choice between luxury cars, which one would you choose? If you had about $350,000 to play with you could buy a Lamborghini Murcielago. This vehicle has a horsepower rating of 640. Of course while we are discussing this luxury vehicle, it might interest you to know that it only gets about 8 miles to the gallon when driven in the city and only 13 on the highway. On the other hand if you had the money to buy this car, it is doubtful that you would be concerned with the price of gas. It also seems strange that side airbags would be an option in a vehicle of this price. Another choice when it comes to horsepower is the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano with a horsepower rating of 620. If you were choosing between the two, would a difference of 20 horsepower make the decision of whether to buy this vehicle or the Lamborghini?Probably not, as most people opt for looks when buying a car. What is Horsepower? When horsepower is used the person is speaking of the measurement of the maximum output of power of a vehicle. This term is beginning to be replaced with KW (kilowatt) and MW (megawatt). When configuring horsepower there are several points at which this may be measured. The following are five of these points. * Nominal* Indicated * Brake * Shaft * EffectiveThe originality of the word horsepower is attributed to James Watt. He used the word when speaking of steam engines. This was how he explained the power used by horses to pull coal out of a mine. Because they were using ponies in the mines, he figured a pony could lift 22,000 foot-pound a minute using a pulley to accomplish this feat. Because he did not want to call the term pony power, by figuring that a pony could pull half of what a horse could, he upped the results by 50% and called this horsepower. Thus was the birth of horsepower. By rating these cars, a person can have an idea of which car is the most powerful. That is after all what the main purpose of most younger males is. Having a car with as much power as they can possibly get is the goal.

Foreclosure Investing Business Tips

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

So you want to start a foreclosure investing business? You want to work for yourself. You’re convinced that being an entrepreneur will be fun, exciting and that you can do it. There’s no fear of failure, right? Just go for it.

Well, guess what? It’s hard $#%# work!

Make no mistake: putting together a foreclosure investing business can be overwhelming, especially if you’ve never run a business before. There are all sorts of questions that are going to come to you, like: “Do I really have what it takes to start a new business and be successful?”

I’ll tell you right now–if you’re a rookie, you have to have what it takes. Are you prepared to work hard? Are you prepared to fail and learn?

It’s going to cost money. If you’re not prepared to spend some money, don’t do it. Go back and work 9-5 for a company that’s got security, health benefits, retirement plans and all the things that Ward and June Cleaver had–a nice little home with 2.3 kids and two weeks of vacation each year. Not for me, thank you. I take one week off for every 6 weeks that I work. What does that have to do with running a business? That’s how I stay refreshed.

When you start a business, you have to assume that you’re going to be successful. However, statistics say that you will not. Approximately 80% of businesses fail within the first three years. And in the next two years, another 15% that made it past the three-year mark will fail. So you’ve got a 5% chance of the business you started being in business five years from now. So be the exception and not the rule.

Of course, being excited and ambitious is a good thing. Never be scared. Remember, FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real.

With a small amount of effort, anybody can put together a solid business plan which when followed will produce predictable results. You don’t need previous experience in business to be successful. But if you have some experience it definitely helps. To do this without any experience you need to commit yourself to it and work your butt off for the next five years.

How does a business start? A business starts with an idea and a business plan. When it comes to foreclosure investing, I can show you a business system that produces measurable results. If you’re serious about starting any business and getting out of the “rat race”, I’ve got three words for you: “MAKE IT HAPPEN!”

Paul Wells has been investing in foreclosures full-time for more than 5 years. For more foreclosure investing secrets like the one in this article, subscribe to Paul’s Free Foreclosure Investing course here: http://www.FreeForeclosureInvesting.com

Business Architecture & Management - What You Need to Know

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Architecture is (normally) about buildings, cities and infrastructure (and the like). You can see it around you and everybody has an opinion about it. You either like the style of that building or you don’t and all the nuances in between.

Business is less visible but also there - everybody has an opinion about it. You should make more profits, cut your costs, build an infrastructure and construct an organization that formalizes the (human) interaction, etc, etc.

If we do all that, why bother about calling it business architecture? Well you shouldn’t but some concepts will help you with issues that most managers are dealing with:

  • Coherence. How do we make sure that what we invent on one end will fit with a solution at the other end.
  • Balance. How do we know whether we are using all our talents and not only a small part of them.
  • Overview. What the hell are we doing anyhow. Our business have become so complex that I’m wondering if all elements point in the same direction to meet that goal.

So architecture can help us. The nice thing about architecture is that you can look at one company and discuss about STYLE, FUNCTION and MATERIAL or construction. Three elements you continue to see (in recurring patterns).
Style is the most important, because it drives your business. It is not only the driving force behind marketing, but also behind, sales, production, human resources and IT. So if you have found your style, the first problem - of coherence - has being dealt with.

Up for the next one.

Beat the CCNA Exam!

Beat the CCNA Exam!

Knowledge is power! If you are a student struggling with your upcoming CCNA exam, you need to know the fine points and all of the information regarding the components of a Cisco router. Understanding computers and all of their complexity is something that can take years of education. But just knowing the basic fundamentals especially when it comes to Cisco CCNA is really all you need to have the confidence to make it though your exam.

ROM, RAM, NVRAM and of course flash memory can be slightly confusing if you are a new learner. Knowing that everything has its place can simplify the learning process and take the guesswork out of all of the similarities. Each differential has its own meaning and own terms as to the function it provides to assist and make the motherboard of your computer a true work horse!

Read only Memory means ROM. This basically means that this is the read only memory for your computer. The Rom has the complex job of storing the operating system components and software, storing the routers bootstrap program upon startup, the systems operating software and POST diagnostic systems.

Flash is the memory in your computer that stores the Cisco images that are based in your computer. This ROM can be reprogrammed and erased easily and safely. Your internet router stores this information when you reload and shut down your computer system. Random Access Memory is also called RAM. A Cisco router typically keeps important operational information about your computer such as routing tables and running files like the configuration file. Sometimes Random access memory can be lost when the router is being powered on or off.

Non volatile RAM is referred to as NVRAM, it is strictly considered as being non volatile meaning that it information stored can not be lost when a power outage is committed or when the power is turned off or on. NVRAM attaches the running configuration file.

When the RAM is running a configuration file, NVRAM puts the configuration file on hold, if the NVRAM is emptied at the time the router happens to reload the computer user is then prompted to enter a setup mode for safety purposes.

By educating yourself and knowing just a few key points you should have no problem being able to pass your CCNA exam with ease and straightforward ability. Knowing how your computer’s brain operates while utilizing the Cisco router and various components is the key to your overall success. Furthermore, when, in the course of studying for the exam a memory upgrade is needed, PC Wholesale provides a complete line of Cisco Approved and third party memory for every Cisco router or switch

The On Line Bingo Planet

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Online bingo has now become more and more renowned in England. Following up on the smoking ban, plenty of long-established bingo gaming places closed down - evidently, this initiated plenty of organizations advertising ‘net bingo as a replacement. Net Bingo Planet

Celebrities’ testimonials as reported from J. and S. Osbourne and plenty of others have been of help in boosting the public profile of cyber bingo - to the tune of just about three million plus players now enjoying a recurrent game.

One can now opt for a number of ‘net bingo online pages, all and sundry proposing to their enthusiasts attractive jackpots and other select prizes, for example new cars, theater tickets and luxury holidays.

Another particularly fabulous aspect of ‘net bingo is that everyone can have a bash at it any time, anywhere there’s a Web account. Games setting out every 9 minutes or faster, you can make arrangements to fit bingo with your normal life. At first people believed that the community quality of bingo gambling would be impaired because of the decline of the long-established bingo gaming places - but on the contrary - bingo supporters in the UK have refuted all the critics… Ever more are moving over to the chatrooms made available by numberless ‘net bingo organizations.

Here, everyone can meet an incredibly large number of new friends, derive benefit from fashionable contests and close ranks with a group of bingo fans. Independently conducted research have also upheld that one is markedly more likely to gather £1mio playing www bingo as weighed against alternative types of gambling for example lotteries and sports bets. If you become a little bit jaded with bingo, a legion of ‘net bingo online pages provide for a huge number of alternative amusements. These can be anything from slots or numbers games, thru caption tournaments and puzzles.

In view of so many different alternatives, it can actually prove tough to determine which bingo organisation is likely to be the best. It pays to conduct a little research and verify who is now promoting to the most pleasing sign-up bonuses. Plenty of ‘net bingo online pages will allow first-time visitors to try a certain number of free internet bingo games or match any cash deposit 1:1. If your buddies have signed up with a given ‘net bingo web site, you may want to give a thought to doing the same as the social chat side can significantly add to the enjoyment!:)

How Are Antioxidants Linked to Anti-Aging?

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Antioxidants have been widely praised in the media. Many know they are linked with anti-aging properties. However this is not new, it all began with one man’s theory a half a century ago about how free radicals were associated with aging, and science has been trying to catch up with it ever since.

As Dr. Nicholas Perricone, M.D., states in his 2001 book, “The Wrinkle Cure”: “When it comes to aging, it’s not Father Time that’s public enemy number 1. It’s the very busy, very nasty little molecule called the free radical.”

The Free Radical Theory of Aging was published by Denman Harman in 1956. He theorized that aging is a result of free radical damage of the cells of the body. This is also called oxidative stress.

Today, a great deal of experimental evidence supports the premise that length of life is determined by the crucial balance of antioxidants with free radicals in the body. Oxidative stress is being shown to be at the root of disease and aging.

One example is that the life of the fruit fly was up to 30% longer when it was genetically altered with an addition of enzymatic antioxidants. Not only that, but the altered fruit flies also showed a reduced amount of age-related oxidative damage.

Studies of humans have also shown evidence of free radical damage playing a large part in human aging. One 1996 study compared markers of free radical damage in the blood and found evidence of the highest oxidative damage associated with the disabled elderly, an intermediate amount with the healthy elderly, and the lowest levels with the healthy adults.

The study also found that higher blood levels of antioxidant Vitamins C and E were associated with less disability, and signs of free radical damage were associated with more disability.

We need to rethink our concept of aging. We accept disease, disability, senility, wrinkles, and all the other many signs of aging as natural. Instead, we should view this as ‘unsuccessful aging’ - ie., aging associated with deterioration, disease and disability.

Successful aging is what happens when the human body is able to fight off oxidative stress, and continue to regenerate and repair itself. Successful aging is getting older healthily, without significant pathological conditions.

What the evidence is telling us is that it is crucial we take antioxidants and free radicals very seriously if we want to ‘age gracefully’ and avoid the many pitfalls of ‘unsuccessful aging’.

Even young people can be victims of unsuccessful aging, if they are not providing their bodies with the necessary balance of having have enough dietary antioxidants to fight off the free radicals.

In our modern culture, many of us are guilty of not getting adequate nutrition. It’s ironic, when we are the richest we have ever been that we should be feeding our bodies so poorly.

An interesting example of how a person can seriously damage their body with the wrong diet was seen in the Documentary ‘Super Size Me’ by Morgan Spurlock who ate only McDonald’s for a month. In just 30 days of having a junk food diet as his sole source of nutrition, his health was spiraling downwards and out of control.

The fact that he gained 25 pounds in a month was the least of his worries. He experienced a toxic liver, a significant increase in cholesterol, headaches, depression, a lower sex drive and poor skin. He returned to normal after his experiment ended.

Unfortunately a great many of us continue to do damage to our bodies, by smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee, eating junk food, and not eating our vegetables. When the media began warning us of free radicals, many of us did not understand the massive damage we were causing our bodies or how to prevent it, especially as most of the signs of damage are invisible until it is too late.

Free radical damage is accumulative and spreads like wildfire over time. Do your body a favor. Feed it a diet rich in antioxidant nutrition. Make it a habit, eat your fruits and vegetables, take your vitamins, and try to stop or cut down on damaging bad habits. You will thank yourself in 20 years.

Use antioxidants wisely to age successfully. Maybe like the fruit fly, you too can live 30% longer.

Carina MacInnes is a writer who uses a simple and extremely powerful antioxidant-packed liquid nutrient made from exotic superfoods. She offers a free e-course on how free radicals affect our health, using antioxidants for healing and anti-aging, and the latest in superfood nutrition. Get all the info here: acai-4life.com

Loving the Samsung F210

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Unfortunately for brand, the F210 has not proven very popular with consumers, however it remains worth evaluating. The F210 is an entry level phone and, when compared to some of the more well known mobile handsets at this price it is fairly well featured. The Samsung F210 is a good general purpose handset that would be appropriate for a very wide range of customers.

In terms of the all important battery duration the Samsung F210 has 265 hrs standby charge and 3:20 talk time. The battery that is supplied with the F210 is a Li-Ion 750 mAh. The Samsung F210 comes equipped with bluetooth, making a number of accessories compatible. The F210 has Polyphonic (64 channels), MP3 ring tones enabled plus a vibration alert. If the colour of your phone is important, you should be aware that this phone comes in, Black and Blue. The Samsung F210 is one of the smallest phones on the market. For a mobile phone of this type, in terms of weight, the Samsung F210 scores pretty well at 72 g. The Samsung F210 is compatible with 2G GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 . The F210 has an integrated 2 MP, 1600×1200 pixels, video(CIF) camera. A WAP 2.0/xHTML compatible browser is also included. In terms of the the display the mobile phone is equipped with a 1.46 inch screen, which is quite a small display taking into consideration what else you can get for the cost of this phone. The display is a TFT, 256K colors. This mobile phone has a number of extras such as, Calculator, Flight mode, Java MIDP 2.0, MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA player, Voice memo, Organizer, Video player and FM radio with RDS.

Unfortunately for Samsung the F210 meaning it is possible to pick up some real bargains on this mobile handset. If you want a real bargain, shop online where you can find thousands of competitively priced deals to consider. Shopping online can deliver some significant cost savings, surprisingly, it is possible to get a contract which is free for 6 months on the Samsung F210 , which, in theory should not cost anything at all.

Why Is It So Difficult To Collect Timesheets?

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

It’s an all too familiar story: It’s Friday afternoon, and you need to finish your accounts and get those invoices out so you can stay in control of your cash flow. You look over your staff timesheets and see that, as you predicted, many of your staff haven’t submitted them yet. You chase them up, only to find out that one of your staff is at a meeting at a client site and cannot be contacted, and a couple more have already left for the weekend. Then there are those that have to be told three times to do their timesheets. How are you supposed to cope with this and still have time to run your business?

There are a number of methods to deal with this type of situation when it occurs. There is always the possibility that you will find yourself in this situation even with the very best of planning, so you need to have some kind of coping strategy. Here are a few coping mechanisms that you can use:

1 - Wait until next week to do your invoicing. This method is probably the easiest solution to handle from an accounting point of view, and it means you can go home early too! However, if you are currently struggling with cash flow this may not be an option.

2 - Send out your invoices today and add the missing timesheets to future invoices. There are many reasons not to do this, as it can create difficulty with administration, and it can also confuse your clients. However, if you are strapped for cash, it may be the best option.

That being said, the best way to handle these situations is to plan ahead so that they never occur. Here are a number of proven methods that you can use to get those timesheets in more painlessly:

1 - Make timesheets due days (or weeks) before the it’s time to send out the invoices, and check to make sure you have received them well in advance of needing them to do the billing. While this may sound obvious, you’d be surprised at how many businesses have difficulty achieving this.

2 - Delegate the task of collecting timesheets to a staff member you trust. This will allow you to spend more time on what you are good at; running your business.

3 - Provide an incentive for staff to submit their timesheets by a certain time. By far the most effective method of doing this is to “link” the collection of timesheets with the payroll. Not the nicest way to go about it, but you’ll probably never see another late timesheet!

4 - Automate the process as much as possible. If you have a lot of traveling staff, make it possible for them to submit their timesheets via email. You can also put systems in place to automatically email staff to request missing timesheets.

If you require a reasonable level of detail in your timesheets, you will generally benefit from implementing a time tracking software solution. Staff can have a program that is installed on their computers and is easy to use, allowing them to enter timesheet information easily while they work. Some time tracking packages will also automate the process of timesheet submission and will link directly to your accounting software, making life easier for everyone.

The key to the success of any time tracking system is for it to be an integrated part of the corporate culture. Hence, staff should be informed that part of their job description includes the submission of timesheets by the deadlines. If you can get staff to create their timesheets while they work and submit the daily, it will be easier for both staff and manager.

Timesheets are an important but much overlooked aspect of running a successful business. With the right planning and systems in place, timesheet creation and collection can be painlessly integrated into the day-to-day operation of your organization.

Michael Potas is currently employed by a timesheet software company, and often provides advise to management issues related to small business. Please take a look at his timesheet software and time tracking software for a solution to many time tracking issues.
