The Expanding Cosmopolitan Realty Marketplace — Accomodated by The Property Index

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Even if the Property Index online service is actually a pretty young bureau, (they were founded in March 2007), they were swift to attain to expert status. On closer look, they’re a fairly easy going bureau entirely focused on counseling any individual who is proposing to rent, buy, sell etc. land across the globe. Their agreement: to help you pinpoint dead-on what you are looking for very quickly and, naturally, without hassle.

Real property can be found all over the world now, one of the fanciest areas being real property on the market in Spain. It’s a no brainer to write a list of the phenomenal real property available for sale in Spain, one motivation for choosing property here being a combination of the houses and apartments available for sale and the great possibility of living between this bubbly, optimistic and active population.

It’s one of the truly fashionable countries now, and considering the scenic beauty and great climate that surrounds you all day long, how could you conceivably go wrong… Real property in Spain is steeped in history, art and culture, this region has long been home to quite a few sophisticated cultures.

Around 30 years ago there’d be a mere dribble of Britishers looking for real property in Spain. Ask any one single person who has moved to Spain and they will be certain to substantiate this. Plenty of people would describe it as a transitory trend and others describe it as a almost an obsession. Clients keen on moving to this region will typically range from yuppies in search of an exciting new life perspective to OAPs planning to settle down.

Note that there can be problems when purchasing real property abroad – you’ll find there are dozens of procedures to consider when organising, inspecting or finalising. If you miss out on one minor action this can definitely create large problems plus, even more important, loss in financial terms.

As you would suppose with this popular region, real property could well be pretty high priced in this location and this, of course, is clearly caused by the increasing demand. This notwithstanding, customers actually are finicky in such a part of the world so richly blessed by fabulous countryside. It patently has the whole ball of wax you could crave, and lots more.

Property Index have a range of properties for sale in Spain, from villas to apartments.

Protective accessories for your cell phone

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Like most electronic devices, cell phones are remarkably fragile. Your cellular phone needs to be protected from water, extreme temperatures, scratches, and unnecessary falls. Luckily, a wide selection of cellular accessories is available to help you keep your cell phone looking and acting like new.

The first line of defense against cell phone damage is a protective case. Protective cases are useful cellular accessories because they protect your phone from dust and damage while maintaining all of its functionality. If you frequently carry your phone in your purse or pockets, it can be easily damaged by keys or other sharp objects. For the somewhat clumsy cell phone user, protective cases are valuable cellular accessories that offer an extra layer of cushioning if your phone is accidentally dropped. Protective cases are normally made of leather, although cases made from neoprene offer better protection against water damage. Cases come in many different colors and styles to suit your personal tastes. Prices for these cellular accessories usually range from $10 to $25. Like most cellular accessories, protective cases are designed for specific models of cell phones.

Another option for protecting your cell phone is to carry a purse that contains a special pocket for your cellular phone. Keeping your phone separate from the other contents of your bag will help prevent unnecessary damage. With these cellular accessories, you won’t need to worry about scratches or makeup spills damaging your phone.

For men, cell phone holsters are useful cellular accessories. Holsters are fairly inexpensive and easily clip onto your belt. These cellular accessories allow access to your cell phone at all times while helping to keep it safe from damage.

Neck straps allow you to keep your phone around your neck for easy access, but these cellular accessories don’t offer much additional protection against unnecessary damage.

Karma Models

Karma models

By now you are probably wondering, if reincarnation is true, then how does it operate? What is the purpose of living many lifetimes, and what is the purpose of reincarnation? So far, we have discussed religious, spiritual, and scientific underpinnings for reincarnation. Now it is time to learn how reincarnation operates and to explore which natural laws determine the course of reincarnation.
Most people have heard the term karma. While you may associate this term with India, it may surprise you to learn that it is equally embedded in Western culture. Simply put, the concept of karma states that you reap what you sowor, to put it another way, you get back what you give or do to others.
As you probably already know, the Golden Rule states that you should treat others just as you would like to be treated. However, you may not have realized that, according to psychologist and past life therapist Hazel Denning, this principle is expressed in differing forms in all the 10 major world religions.
The Golden Rule is one of the first major principles taught to young childrenand it is one of the hardest to truly learn and follow. Most religions teach this rule, yet many of our actions are based on our needs and self-interests
At the same time, we are all aware that there are great inequities in life. People hurt others and seem to get away with little or no obvious consequences. Often, it does not seem that treating others as you would like to be treated is rewarded in this life.
While the principle of karma seems quite simple, its operation is very complex. As you begin to think about karma, you might wonder how it works and functions in your life.

The Illusion of Separateness

If you try to practice the Golden Rule, yet think of your life as a one-time experience, it is hard to make sense of the apparent unfairness in the world. Still, when you begin to incorporate the viewpoint of karma and reincarnation, life appears even more complicated. At the same time, however, much that goes on beneath the surface of the material world can be explained and explored by the concepts of karma and reincarnation.
All esoteric teachings emphasize that we are connected to one another spiritually. However, in our material world, it is obvious that we are separate. In addition, because there is incredible diversity among people and the natural world, you often pursue your own interests at another person’s expense.
Yet the evidence, the natural law of Karma, and the Golden Rule are all aimed at helping you pierce through that veil of separateness to see the interconnection of all people and things … to see the oneness of everything. This is not just an intellectual conceptit is primarily an experiential one.

Thinking Exercise: Examining your relationships

Write down the names of people in your life whom you currently see as important. Include relationships that are both negatively and positively charged.
1.Write down relationships from your past as well as from your present life situation.
2.After each name, think about the nature of the relationship and the way you relate to each person.
a.What is the emotional tone of the relationship?
3.Are there strong feelings in the relationship that are difficult for you to explain and understand?

Karma as Memory

In a broader sense, karma can be defined quite simply as memory. That is because the karma you carry from one lifetime to the next is the accumulation of all your interests, abilities, tendencies, and both good and bad moral choices. This is not unlike the situation in your current life, where your childhood experiences have shaped your adult preferences and tendencies. For example, if as a child you showed some musical interest and talent, took lessons, and practiced regularly, as an adult you would be able to play a musical instrument with some skill. This may help you to view karma in this way as well.

Preferences, Talents, and Aversions

As you know, preferences and aversions acquired during childhood can carry on through to your adult life. Perhaps you have a particular sensitivity and/or passion to different kinds of music and art that was acquired through exposure in childhood and adolescence. For example, your parents may have loved classical music. Through exposure, you may have grown to love or dislike it.
This preference may carry on through to your adult life. However, if you have a particular aversion to some foods, a visceral dislike of certain parts of the world, or even some prejudices against certain ethnic groups, these may all be parts of your karmic memory; the results of many lifetimes of experience that are shaping the propensities you carry in your current life.
Think of taking this analogy further, and imagine previous lifetimes shaping some of your interests and skills in this lifetime. It is in the same way that you have a genetic inheritance.
Karma as Learning

What happens here on earth is a process of learning and self-development that occurs on many levels. In this model, situations arise that challenge you to learn and grow or respond … even if they do not directly affect you. This model is much less determinable than other models of reincarnation.
Significant situations offer karmic opportunity. You have choices to make about how to handle different situations and relationships that arise in your life. When, the karma is about learning, not everything is predetermined; but significant situations offer karmic opportunities. In addition, you are simultaneously creating new karma or growth, or setting up future situations in which you will have to continue to work on the consequences of your choices … either in your current life or in a future life. When karma is learning, you can use current opportunities to help you evolve or grow.

Thinking Exercise: Learning From Your Karma

Was there a time when you felt challenged to learn or grow by life events that seemed beyond your control? If so, take a moment to think about that time, and then address the following questions.
What was challenging about that time?
Why did it seem out of your control?
Was another person involved who seemed to be controlling the events? If so, who? Why was that person able to control the events when you could not?
Did you feel at that time a sense of deja vu or repetition? How was this challenge resolved? Were you able to take control of the events or did they resolve without your intervention? What did you learn from this challenge?

Karmic Development of the Soul
You are working on karmic themes through many lives. Your karmic themes represent the repetitive signposts that your soul encounters through its many lifetimes. Many past life issues are psychological in nature and play out through many lifetimes in what can be called karmic scripts. These scripts can involve the same souls, with whom you meet repeatedly over many lifetimes. Sometimes you might be working out problems and experiences together, while other times you may be bonded through trauma or issues of karmic justice. Some souls travel together to help each other. Sometimes, a mixture of motives operates to bind souls.

Thinking Exercise: Finding Karmic Themes

We would like to now discuss the hardest lesson you ever had to learn.
How did the lesson present itself? Did you recognize it as a lesson, or it initially as a challenge?
Did you resist the challenge? Did you try to ignore it, go around it, or otherwise not face it?
How did you ultimately learn the lesson that challenge presented?
Do you feel that you have now learned this lesson, or do similar challenges present themselves repeatedly? If so, why do you think you may not have yet learned this lesson.

Karmic Patterns

Karma is the spiritual equivalent of the law of cause and effect. The existence of favourable or unfavourable karma depends on whether past deeds were good or evil. Most people have both good and bad karma because they have performed both good and bad deeds in the past. So most people lives are a mixture of misery and happiness. Karma is not limited to actions taken during one’s present life, but can extend back into the infinite past and forward into the infinite future.
Thus, karma forms the connecting link between one’s consecutive lives. Karma applies mostly to the acts of individuals, but it may also be the overall result of actions by many people acting as a group; such as groups of persons, family groups, groups of nations, and the like. In other words, there are such things as group karma, family karma and even national karma.
Further complicating the mix are the needs and agendas of others around you that affect you on a deep and profound level. Sometimes you may have made agreements with other souls to work on certain issues together, helping each other through several lifetimes. Karma is attached only to souls.
There is no such thing as a karmic place. However, strong emotions can easily imprint themselves on the world around us. Homes, workplaces, even hotel rooms, can develop a distinct build-up of emotional residue. These residues linger in the subtle reality, affecting everyone who encounters them on a deep and unspoken level.

Thinking Exercise: Family and Group Karma

Think of your family relationships, including your parents, siblings, spouse, children, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.
Who in your family have you felt close to?
Who have you felt distant from?
Think of your friends. Are there any that you felt closer to than your family?
Are there any that you think that you have been with before?
Think of your neighbours and/or co-workers.
Are there any that you instantaneously liked or disliked for no apparent reason?
Do you feel that there is something more to them than meets to the eye?
Try to visualize it or make a story about them.

I Challenge the ‘experts’

GREAT WHITE BROTHERHOOD OF MASTER CRAFTSMEN:

What the nature of ‘mystery schools’ was before Tuthmosis re-organized them (25) is hard to say. The claims of people within the Masons are challenged by many scholars. In reading the work of Conor MacDari, who seems to be a truth-teller from a group within Masonry that deplores many of the undisciplined practices, I tend to think they do have a good claim to having been the builders of the Pyramid who originated the Hebrew ethnic group. His work in ‘Irish Wisdom’ has been a source of intense study and verification for me during the last eleven years and he seems to place the designer(s) of the Pyramid group above or outside his own cadre.

The ‘white’ refers to a powder used to levitate the Pyramid rock; according to Gardner and many others within the mystic community this is the only explanation for the ‘fit’ of the Pyramid rock. The interior dimensions of the resting place assumed to have been a sarcophagus (I am not sure there ever was a lid and I think it was a focusing chamber within the king’s chamber to position the individual at the optimum ‘power spot’. Don Juan goes into great length emphasizing this aspect of the earth energy grid and Cayce does as well. Cayce was a 33rd degree Mason and his father was a Mason as well.} by Egyptologists (26) have 1/200th inch tolerances. We find it hard to believe even Christopher Dunn can explain this by machining and drills. Geopolymerization (rock-making) was covered in Science from the modern day patent holder Dr Davidovits, of this eminently do-able method. Serious scholars of fair intent have difficulty settling the debates over how the Pyramid was built. No credible answer is exclusively reached and it is our opinion a variety of methods were used in different situations. For example it would be difficult to justify building molds for obelisks of specific one time dimension or corniche stones of unique application. The machining approach would be used to finish rock poured in place. In the time before I read Davidovits and Morris’s book, I thought the levitation approach was the only answer that make sense of the large rocks at Ba’albek and the 600 Ton cornerstone of Solomon’s Temple. And that did not turn me on.

After intensive discussion with Marjorie Morris, including chemical analysis and weighing done by Kansas State University (not included in their book) I was convinced ‘rock-making’ was a major part of the process and that made me feel a lot better about the ’slave’ issue. It didn’t seem likely given the opportunities to be a mercenary and the lack of rational reasons to suggest 40 years would be enough to build this pristinely precise monument – as Egyptology suggests. The recent attempts to duplicate the feat are woefully inadequate and actually include fraud and misrepresentations. The recent ARCHAEOLOGY magazine issue that intimates they were just imitations of natural landforms is patently ridiculous. Whether the ‘white powder’ was usable in building these structures I can’t say. Gardner’s descriptions of the way it works include a fluctuating weightlessness that would still make the ‘fit’ difficult. The quarried rock would still be even more difficult to machine to actual tolerances that sometimes mirror the Tiahuanaco exactitude where angled {N.B.} rocks are almost earthquake proof! How can one quarry rocks with numerous angles and not break them?

This problem so threatens modern academics whose whole history is founded on the ignorance of ‘Stone Age’ or Neolithic people that an editor who was working with me quit and called me an ‘occultist’. So, the battle against heretics like me and other seekers of wisdom does wage on, with the tenured and other spokespeople drawing massive wages at taxpayer expense. Here are his words regarding the Pyramid.

“It’s generally known that the Pyramid and Giza was a colossal albeit prosaic engineering feat carried out mostly by slaves.”

I will show him due deference and not cite his name, but he possesses many doctorates and was a professor with 14 years of post-secondary education. He deserves the opportunity and the freedom to express himself but I suggest we don’t need such ‘expertise’ in our schools unless they volunteer their time in an open forum. It is certain he has done little research and is simply engaging in the conventional ‘me-too’ arrogance that resolutely and militantly (if not with vile purpose) repeats such utter hogwash! It is not just ‘occultists’ who write whole books on the subject of the Pyramid from different disciplinary backgrounds including mathematics and most physical sciences. ‘Occult’ is only ‘hidden’ because of inquisitorial exercise of academic proscription. I know few universities would allow me to speak in a free or open forum to debate such ‘experts’!

Giving Gardner his due, I would say he has done some excellent scholarship, albeit Bible Narrative in style if not intent. My belief is that closure can not be reached by any true seeker and I am open to ecumenical approaches that neither my editor nor Gardner (‘Genesis of the Grail Kings’) exhibit. So, if that makes me an ‘occultist’ like alchemists who the Great White Brotherhood claim to be (at least derived from the same shamanistic roots) then so be it. Of course, my credentials are not recognized and therefore I am ‘persona non grata’ or what Jesus and any other occultist who dared to tell the truth (like Socrates) risked in ancient times, is likely my crucifying judgment. Yes, Jesus was a seeker who studied the Tree of Life and other Qabalistic (changed to Kaballah in Spain much later by the Sephardic and/or Hassidic Jews) ‘Sources’. That makes Gardner closer to the truth of Jesus and his ‘Therapeutae’ that came from or with the re-organization engineered by Tuthmosis. The ‘Star Fire Ceremony’ practiced by these ‘occultists’ and the communion which involved other bloody (literally) devices is definitely beyond the ‘norm’ and pale of proper behavior as we see it today.

How influential these elitist ‘mystery schools’ are in our present environment is yet to be seen. Certainly they have been the dominant factor in history for at least 3500 years. We will show Napoleon and Aquinas are joined by the likes of Cecil Rhodes and Winston Churchill on the way to a Skull & Bones Society far more obscene than any you might imagine. When you see pictures of Pharaohs they often have pointed hats to augment the pineal ‘Third Eye’ aspects and attributes of the human machine. This pyramidal structure focuses forces that the GWB was more aware of than any conventional academic of today who might put a similar hat on a kid they send to a seat in the comer of the classroom (Dunce Cap).

Should You Bother Learning HTML to Build Webpages?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

The most popular method to build webpages today is to use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) software. Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver are prime examples of WYSIWYG software. Both programs allow you to create webpages as though you were creating a document with your favourite word processing software like Microsoft Word or WordPerfect. Its as simple as entering paragraphs, headings and inserting clipart or images.

WYSIWYG software like those listed above are prefect for beginner webpage builders who want webpages constructed quickly without having to learn HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language).

All webpages are brought to life using HTML codes, regardless what webpage building software is used. WYSIWYG programs simply create the HTML codes as you construct a webpage (in the
background, without you knowing), so you don’t need to understand them.

This is without a doubt the biggest advantage over any other type of webpage building programs. It means that if you can press keys on a keyboard, you have what is required to create your very own webpage!

However, most WYSIWYG programs don’t give you absolute, total control over webpage design (ie, exactly the way you want the page to look). There are design limitations.

For example, you may want to place headings, sub headings and a navigation menu in a particular arrangement on the webpage, but no matter how many times you try, the program won’t permit
such placement or position them correctly. This is one big disadvantage of WYSIWYG programs if you desire a custom look to all your webpages.

Knowledge of HTML, however, can assist you to overcome such design shortfalls in WYSIWYG programs. How is this possible? Let me explain.

If you understand HTML codes, then you understand why webpages appear the way they do in a web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. This is powerful stuff
because the moment you change/modify HTML codes, the webpage will take on a new design/appearance.

And don’t forget that HTML codes are exact, giving you total freedom over how everything appears on the webpage. Most WYSIWYG programs allow you to view and modify the HTML codes. As you can
see, knowledge of HTML is beneficial.

The downside to HTML is the learning curve. It takes time to understand how HTML works and why, but once you know, using HTML to create totally custom designed webpages is easy. For the
beginner, HTML can be challenging, but don’t despair because there are HTML tutorials available that teach you basic and advanced HTML in a matter of days!

So the question is – Should you bother learning HTML to build webpages? The answer – yes and no.

It is obvious that WYSIWYG software speeds up production of webpage development regardless of your knowledge on how to build webpages. However, to further refine and tune your webpages
exactly to your liking, it is usually necessary to add and modify HTML codes. So yes, HTML is worthwhile learning if you are unsatisfied with the webpages produced by WYSIWYG software.

There is little point learning HTML if you are 100% satisfied with the webpages made with WYSIWYG software.

One thing is certain. Using WYSIWYG software and learning HTML codes is the answer for those of us who want webpages made exactly to our requirements. Learning HTML is not as hard as
you think. To get started, simply search any major search engine like Google, Yahoo or MSN using the search phrase “html tutorials”, its that easy!

Les Pinczi is the creator of interactive HTML learning software to help you learn how to build a web page in hours!

Should You Translate Your Web Site to Another Language?

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

In 2001, half the users of the Web do not speak English as a first language. What’s more, the number of non-English speaking newcomers is growing at a much faster rate than the number of English speaking Internet newcomers. However, 80% of the information on the web is in English.

Should you make your web site available in languages other than English? If you are interested in reaching overseas markets and doing business with persons from other cultures, it’s almost a necessity. As one expert pointed out, they call it the World Wide Web because it represents international audiences.

If you are considering translating your site (and you do know that translation software is not a good choice, right?), consider the following:

* If you have the language skills, you can translate the web site yourself. The QWERTY keyboard works for every language in the world. However, if you are planning to translate to characters other than those found in the Western alphabet, you will need a phonetic map (a software application that maps the keyboard input into characters). For example, if you wanted to write “Tokyo” in Japanese, you would type in TOKYOO then hit the space bar. The mapping software would show you the two most likely characters. If they were not what you were looking for, you would hit the space bar again and be shown all the options that are available to you.

*You will need an international browser. Both Netscape and Explorer are available in international versions.

*Your operating system is an additional consideration. Windows 2000 is said to support all languages using a new standard called Unicode. Apple offers language kits that can be installed in the MAC OS. If your web site is to contain sophisticated programming, you will also require international developmental tools (i.e. Japanese DreamWeaver, etc.)

*If you don’t want to do your translation in-house, a localisation company can provide your translation services. A good localisation company will be using translators that not only speak the language fluently, but also are familiar with the culture and customs of the target market. In America, for example, you would not use the same marketing message to reach a twenty year old as you would use to reach a baby boomer. Nor would you use the same language to market to a stay-at-home mom as you would use to reach a career woman. Similar differences occur within other cultures, and your translator must be familiar with the culture of your target market.

*Localisation companies can also support your business services. It is not enough to simply translate your web site. You must be able to process the orders and service your customers in their language.

*If your web site is going to be updated regularly, discuss a maintenance package. Some companies will monitor your English web site for changes, then make corresponding modifications to your international sites.

*Your web server could require special enablements. Ask your web administrator for input. Localisation companies also assist in this area. When selecting a localisation company, look for one that asks a lot of questions. They must thoroughly understand your business needs before they can provide the type of service you need. A multicultural development company can also offer suggestions regarding the design of your site and how it will work in different cultures. Your company might also be able to suggest ways of modifying site architecture to save you money.

*Ask your localisation company for a weekly report on the status of your project.

Fees will vary. Do price comparisons, but remember that price should not be the only consideration.

[ Simple ways to improve your Adsense returns ]

*** Limited offer: ***

Now, for the bargain price of (much less than) $97, I will give
you the hidden secrets to Adsense fiscal glory:

” “

I`m sorry, was that too brief? Hmmm, nothing there you say? Ah,
well there you go…

Sorry to disappoint, but that`s your lot, there are no `hidden
secrets`. Don`t get me wrong, some of these grossly overpriced
eBooks do have good, solid information. And yes, if you want to
take the lazy route to optimisation they will save you many
hours of treading the forums, but secrets?

And the promise of earning hundreds, even thousands of dollars a
day ?

See, now we are on stickier ground. In truth, yes, it`s
perfectly possible. Indeed I fully intend to prove it can be
done via my main site ( www.ackadia.com ) and my Adsense
`secrets` site ( www.dadsense.com ). BUT, and here`s the rub,
unless you are doing dirty black hat tricks which WILL cost you
Adsense account, there is a finite limit to how much you can
improve your revenue. It will vary will one site to the next,
but I believe the absolute maximum you can increase it by is
tenfold. Certainly a 500% increase is easily achievable if you
follow the rules.

But the books promise… : Read the small print, eh! Generally
there`s a wee caveat to those 100% money back guarantees, like,
if you follow everything in the manual. I will be doing a follow
on article looking at building traffic.

*** Here`s how it goes, in reality: ***

You are earning 20 a day. You follow every rule in the book,
try every trick in all these oh so promising tomes, et voila,
you might be earning $1.00 a day. At that rate, if you manage
it, you should cover the cost of the eBook in about 3 months. A
far, far cry from the screen shots proving they are earning over
$1,000 a day.

Come on, we`ve all seen them, the cheques for like $25,000, the
month`s listing pulling anywhere between $600 and $1,600 a day,
every day, pictures with the central portion edited out. There
is a good reason for this – one besides violating Googles` terms
and conditions – it conveniently, legitimately, hides the clicks
and page impressions. Clicks are an aside, the impressions are
the real meat here, the measure of hits, of traffic.

That`s hit the nail on the head, eh. If you want to turn that
$0.20 a day into a $1 a day, fine, but to turn it up again to
into $500 a day, you need 500 times more visitors, every single
day. Not only that, but genuine people who have come for your
expert opinions and advice, that most certainly have not been
tricked by false information.

As you can see, most of the books will touch on improving
traffic, but the fact hides the lie. Unless you have several
popular sites, or one amazing busy niche site, you will never
see these sort of monthly cheques yourself!

*** Monetisation 101: Who`s your daddy! ***

You want lots of money for publishing the content and displaying
the Adsense, anything else is incidental.

Google want lots of money from the advertisers for supplying
the service and only really care that your content and leads are
relevant and honest.

The advertisers meanwhile want lots of money from sales and
don`t really care about either you nor Google – they are paying
hard cash per click for their AdWords and want clicks that
convert to a real Return On Investment.

So, who is your Daddy? The advertisers, naturally! No-one
outside of Google and very few inside know the rules, but you
can bet the shirt off your back that there`s a correlation
between your site and the advertisers marketing feedback. Here`s
a perfect example. I am looking for a new host, so I do a search
and find a carefully written article dedicated to reseller
hosting. As it`s target it generates appropriate adverts, one of
which I follow and end up ordering from. A win-win-win situation.

*** Here`s what works: ***

Play around and test continually until you find what works best
for you. I recently changed my logo on one site and the click
thru rate dropped from around 2% to almost zero overnight! You
can bet I put it back how it was. Similarly, altering the
background colour elsewhere increased the rate 300%.

Pages with single theme topics are highly effective, the better
they are written, the more likely you will get targeted
visitors. Remember though that Google`s Adsense terms strictly
forbid you designing web sites purely with the intention of
earning Adsense income. If they catch you, it is an automatic
lifetime ban. Create web sites where you have a real interest in
providing content for your readers.

Where possible using keywords, you ideally want appropriate
domain names, along with highly descriptive paths and filenames
using dashes between the words work extremely well, greatly
increases the probability of instantly targeted ads. Naturally
this applies to search engine optimisation too. Apparently,
targeting effectiveness increases over time. I can`t say if this
is true, but according to some sources it seems likely that
external factors such as the number, range, popularity and
relevancy of external sites and articles linking to you, and to
the page in question play a factor.

*** KISS Google! ***

For your page design, `Keep It Simple, Stupid,` if you want to
get the best out of Adsense, and indeed other related systems.
Not so much the visual aspect that we see, but the code that the
bots `see`. A lot of this relates to accessibility regulations
and validated code. Essentially, the indexing bots are blind. If
they have to navigate a badly marked up mess of nested tables
and Flash animations, well…

Needless to say such optimisation should include the
descriptive use of headline elements (H1, H2 etc) and extend to
meta information such as the title, description and keywords.
You should also create a robots.txt, which needs to include this
line: ( User-agent: Mediapartners-Google* )

I have a page on meta tags here: ( www.ackadia.com/web-design/meta-tags/meta-tag-keywords.ph
p ).

For extensive information on robots, read this FAQ : ( www.robotstxt.org/wc/
faq.html )

Don`t format your sitemap. Google have a beta program
specifically running for this, Webmasters can register here: (
www.google
.com/webmasters/sitemaps/login )

*** Which ad size to use ***

Please bear in mind these are generalisations and may not be the
best for your particular blog or web site. The only way to know
for sure is try them and monitor them through channels,
experimenting over time with slightly different sizes and
shapes. Generally when you find the one that works best you know
almost overnight! Whichever you use, take the text only option
over the text and/or image and keep from `above the fold`,
display them at the top of the page in the hot spots. Google
even have a chart of what works best, where. Find it here: ( www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html
)

Anyway, for the side bars, the consistent agreement is for a
160×600 Skyscraper, over the narrower 120×600 or other options.

If you use the banners at the top, go with the full sized
728×90. I don`t see the results myself, but I believe the 728×15
horizontal link units work well with niche sites.

For body content, there tends to be mixed consensus between the
medium 300×250 and the large 336×280 rectangles as which is
best. I`m inclined towards the latter, but it does depend on the
actual layout of your pages and specifically the width of your
content column. Again, test the various formats to see which
works best for you.

*** Which ad colours to use ***

Now this is one of the `secret tips`. So secret that Google give
it coverage on there Adsense tips page. Ahem! Anyway, sarcasm
aside, it is also THE one. This, more than any other supposed
snake oil, is what can massively improve the success of
contextual adverts on your site. Not just Google, but Chitika
and anything else you might want to try!

Here`s what Google have to say on the matter:

“What colour palettes are the most successful? You may find that
colours that stand out without overshadowing your content are
better for your site than colours that blend in so well, the ads
are practically invisible. However, you may find that colours
that blend in completely perform better. However you choose your
colour palettes, make sure that it complements the colour scheme
of the page. Also, rotating colour palettes is a simple way to
add variety and freshness to your ads. All you need to do is
hold down the Control key and select up to four colour palettes
when generating your ad code in the Ad layout code page of your
account.”

Personally, I find the best result come when you blend your
sites colours and fonts as closely as possible, making the
adverts look more of your content. Indeed it is this relevancy
that endeared me to Google in the first place. That said,
sometime the reverse it true. This, I believe, relates as much
to the nature of the topic as anything else. It`s a mind set
thing! Basically, it`s down to not making the advert look like
an ad. THus you match it so closely that it`s part and parcel,
or make it stand out, hiding in plain sight.

For the most part, depending on site style, I prefer muted
colours though others tests have showed that the default blue
(#0000ff) for links can improve the effectiveness by 25%. Either
way, make the colours of the ads and your own links pair up. As
an interesting alternative is Google`s random colours. I`ve not
tested it extensively yet, but some people have reported good
results use the option to dynamically rotate up to four colour
layouts.

*** Keyword targeting ***

There`s two ways of looking at this, only one of which I
personally subscribe too. The first and in my opinion true and
honest is genre targeting. This is essentially search engine
optimisation and frankly if you want a decent ranking in Google,
Yahoo and MSN this is the only guaranteed way to do it – putting
the right words in your meta information, headlines and entire
content.

The other method is highly lucrative and an entire market in
itself. It involves trying to work out who has naively paid the
most for a particularly word combination and rewriting your
pages to get that ad on your page.

Here`s a fictitious example:

For `rust removal` the costs to advertisers is $1.11 a click For
`rust removal widget` the bid rises to $11.11 a click For `rust
removal gadget` someone has incredulously bid at $111.11 per
impression

Technically there is nothing wrong with this and I don`t think
the rules specifically forbid it

*** Last minute advice: ***

Don`t forgot to try the Adsense Site Search box. If you have a
large site it`s a great way of letting visitors quickly find the
relevant information. If they don`t find it, it`s a reasonable
bet they will reach for Google and search elsewhere. Why not let
them launch search from your site, that way if it leads them to
an advert you get credited. Sure, it`s not a big earner, but the
pennies do an up over time.
