Slow down for Stud Poker
I am not a speedy poker player. I like to take my time and really savor my decisions. Needless to say this has earned me more than one sharp retort from online players who wished I would speed up my online poker game. But these wise guys don’t bother me too much. I play for the experience of the game, not just the money. The slower pace of the game is the reason why I prefer stud poker varieties over draw.
You just can’t savor a draw casino game the same way you can a stud game. Draw poker is over too quickly. There is no time to think and ponder the strength of your hand. I even like how the cards in stud poker are doled out one at a time. It really emphasize that each card is a precious thing that can change your whole hand. You don’t realize the power of each card when you are handed a big stack of them at once. Where is the beauty in that? The slow pace of stud poker also gives you a chance to really think about how much you are betting. Money doesn’t slip through your fingers in stud because you are required to be conscious of your bet at all times. With each new card is a new bet. This means that you are reaching to your stack a lot. Handling your chips often means that you will never forget that you need to stay on a budget.
